Just look at the bad, dreadful state/condition of our health is in that kills us, shortens lives or makes it unpleasant to live.
X Overweight you look around and see on our bodies everywhere.
X Our lousy; health, life-threatening junk, processed “food” diet saturated with unhealthy, addicting sugar, salt and oils.
X Widespread disease, sickness, “aches and pains” you see and hear about so much, too much like heart attack, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s or dementia.
X Enormous consumption of prescription and over-the-counter drugs that keep us going, alive, and compromise beyond repair the proper functioning of our body’s organs!
X Properly prescribed and used prescription drugs, and the adverse drug reactions/side effects from them are “a major health risk, ranking 4th with stroke as a leading cause of death” (Light, New Prescription Drugs, 2014)!
X Those feeling fine, no sign of any problem, okay diet, good physical. Then all of a sudden wham-bam heart attack, cancer, diabetes.

“Human potential that is lost due to poor health is immense” (3 References and Resources).
6 out of 10 adults in the US have a chronic disease; 4 out of 10 have two of them! due to Tobacco Use, Poor Nutrition, Lack of Physical Activity and Excessive Alcohol Use (1).
“More than two-thirds of all deaths are caused by one or more of five chronic diseases: heart disease, cancer, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and diabetes. They are responsible for seven out of 10 deaths in the U.S., killing more than 1.7 million Americans each year” (2).
Trends show an overall increase in chronic diseases or the top ten health problems in America (not all of them chronic)—heart disease, cancer, stroke, respiratory disease, injuries, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, influenza and pneumonia, kidney disease, and septicemia.
The nation’s aging population and existing risk factors like tobacco use, poor nutrition and lack of physical activity have led to the “conclusion that these problems are only going to magnify if not effectively addressed now” (2).

So, we, you and I need to take responsibility, and stand up and do what’s right for our health; wellness, such as having a strong, powerful, well-built immune system.

2 ASSESSMENT; ANALYSIS of your health, nutrition, diet
A program’s first step is a needs assessment. A car mechanic won’t work on a car without a diagnosis, and a therapist won’t treat you without first making an assessment.
The same is true for our health; wellness and having it periodically assessed like you would a physical check-up.
We need to know and understand exactly/precisely what our particular body and health, nutrition, diet needs; requires in order to change; improve and maximize/optimize our health; wellness. We can be eating heathy foods and taking vitamins and supplements that may not be what our particular body and health; wellness needs. In fact, they may not be good for it!

Think about the basics; fundamentals it takes to learn and play a sport or musical instrument and how they can’t be played without them? That a house and its stories can’t be built without a foundation. It does indeed take a “village” to raise our health up to where we want it to be and belongs.
